The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) hereby notifies the public that it proposes to make an Order under the Belize Telecommunications Act to prescribe the terms and conditions of use by the public for the Radio Frequency Bands commonly referred to as the 900 Megahertz Band, 2.4 Gigahertz Band and the 5.0 Gigahertz Band.
A draft of the proposed Order, titled GENERAL AUTHORIZATION FOR OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT OR DEVICES UTILIZING THE 900 MHZ, 2.4 GHZ AND 5 GHZ RADIO FREQUENCY BANDS ORDER (NO. 1 OF 2021 TELECOMMUNICATIONS SECTOR), may be viewed in person at the Offices of the Public Utilities Commission at 41 Gabourel Lane, Belize City, or on its website at www.puc.bz.
The proposed Order is to replace the GENERAL AUTHORIZATION FOR OPERATIONS OF EQUIPMENT OR DEVICES UTILIZING THE 2.4 GHZ AND 5 GHZ RADIO FREQUENCY BANDS issued by the PUC on the 21st Day of May, 2020.
The PUC is inviting written comments on the proposed Order by 4:30 PM on May 13, 2021. Comments may be delivered to the PUC at its Offices or P.O. Box 300, or submitted by email to telecom@puc.bz.
The PUC intends to issue the proposed Order with amendments, if any, by June 14, 2021.
